First time I have seen this. Weekend backup did not run and abended server. GUI displays device with <<media error>> info. Original error was e1024 failed to contact tape server, a7. No info on CA or exabyte site. Possible tape hardware issue. Any suggestions?

a7 is a controller error
but look to the whole SCSI bus from controller to drive and not just the controller.

Ok, gonna need some help here. It's an ML 330 G2 with no SCSI raid. Again, running Netware 6 SP5. Not sure how to troubleshoot from the controller to the drive. The controller also has 4 HDs attached, which led me originally to believe it wasn't the controller. Would switching the tape drive to a different channel resolve the controller question?
