E3855 Unable to position media EC=Controller Failure: HW error. Arcserve 2000 Advanced Ed. v.7.0. Once per week a backup fails with this error. I have a Compaq AIT 50 tape drive. Anyone have any thoughts?

Is the firmware of the AIT drive checked with ARCserve's Certified Device list ?

Verify your scsi controller, look at Compaq site and verify if your controller can use your tape.

I replace my scsi controller and the problem was solved.
