i have a W2K-domain A and its child domain B. Each of them have a E2K Server (E2K-master for A and E2K-member for B) belonging to the same routing group.
E2K in Domain A is responsible to exchange mails with the internet (smtp-server).
the goal is that internal mailexchange is possible between domain A and B and that both domains can send and receive email from the internet. somehow i m only able that domain A is working properly but any exchange with the child domain does not work......
Could anybody tell me how I have to configure the recipient policy : do i need for each domain a seperate policy... with its namespace...
do i have to configure the smtp server in the child domain ???
thx for help

1. Did you create a RUS for the child domain? You should have 3; the enterprise RUS, the RUS for the parent, and the RUS for the child.

2. In each domain, you should have an "Exchange Domain Servers" group that contains the machine accounts for the exchange servers in that domain. "Exchange Enterprise Servers" should contain both of the "Exchange Domain Servers" groups.

Hi
thx for your answer !!
the RUS has been created automatically for the enterprise, the domain A and for its Child B.

Both E2K Server belong to the same and only Routing Group (some Org)
thatswhy i didnt configure a extra SMTP Server in the Child Domain....because for me the SMTP Server of Domain A should be responsible as well for the Child Domain ()

as well I m not sure about the Recipient Policies: do I need to create a separate Policy for each Domain with its namespace...??

thx for your ideas

You need to check the ldap filter on the existing policy at a minimum. You need to make sure everyone is getting stamped.
