E1/T1 mixed system

I would like to know if you can have a Meridian 81C using E1 and T1 links (NT5D97 and NT5D12). If so, is there a recommendation on which one should be used for clocking?

you can have both if you have the packages for both euro and north americian service. i perfer to use my long distance provider for my primary clock. and i perfer to have a different provider for my backup.. i use my ld here as primary but use a tie to another switch as backup.. if that office goes down i want something that is not in the same office and cable (glass) span if possible.. the switch will operate in free run but it's not a good thing

So I shouldn't be worried about clocking T1s from an E1 or viceversa? It should work both ways?

worked for me, i was concerned with the logic as well...

the 61C switch didnt seem to care tho, my TI PRI runs just fine with an E1 PRI providing the clocking

thanks MG2005, have you seen it working the other way around? the T1's providing clock for the E1s?

no I have never tried it the other way around sorry
