Can anyone help me with a few E1 questions?

I am wondering what cards I can turn a E1 up on. PRI/BRI. The only information I have is from 553-3001-211 Card Description and Installation and they do not get in much detail on E-1 and they do not give much info on newer cards. NT5D33 and NTRB34 Lineside E1 cards are the only cards that deal with E1 but I do not think that is what I need.

I guess my question is if anyone knows if the NT5D12 Dual PRI/BRI can handle E1? I worked a 81C that was planed to have E1 and as I remember it was configured with a NT5D12 for that reason but I never got the E1.

And.. If I can use the NT5D12 what programming differences will I have to know about?

Thanks.

Sorry, its not PRI/BRI, I just caught that typo and couldn't find how to edit. It is PRI/DTI.

I think the NT5D12 is for T1 the dual PRI/DTI for larger switch is now the NT.D97 (again I think) (not sure of all the stuff. If an Option 11C and using Euro/ETSI you need the NTAK50 the 79 will not work.

Thanks WWDT,
I did not know to look at the NTAK50 or 79. I have a 81c with three groups and all of my T1s are on the 5D12 Dual cards. I am still not sure if I will even have to install the E1 but it is looking hopeful. I will post what I find if and when the time comes but if anyone has more information I would be grateful.

I take it this is a Stateside install/add on. My experience is overseas stuff mainly so not sure I can be much help, but a lot of smart folks on this forum I learn from that I am sure can help you out.

I am overseas but I all of my trunks are T-1s to other PBXs on a private network. The E-1 is my proposed connection to the local exchange.

The best that I can tell is that I will be given a NT5D97 to connect to the local PRI2 with D channel. Unless there are surprises from the local exchange I should not have too much trouble but any helpful info would be great. Thanks Mike.

the PRI's (E1) terminate on 50AA with a 51AA & a 20BD daughter boards attached. This will allow you to use QSIG/Q931,ESGF. where as the NTAK79 will only let you use DASS or DPNSS

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder
