Certain e-mails send out at with no problems. But certain e-mails sit in the queue and do not move and have a status of retry. The e-mails do not move for a couple of days and then they go back to the user with a delivery status notice. Could someone please help me out with this.

Verify you have an RDNS entry in public DNS. You can test it on DNSSTUFF.COM.

I'm betting the failed mails are to ISPs such as hotmail, yahoo & aol or any of the growing list of ISPs that are requiring the RDNS entry to match before they will allow mail to be sent to them.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Yes I have RDNS. I went to that site and putin the ip and comes back with no problems. Yes they are failing going to hotmail.com, msn.com and a couple other domains. like dart.on.ca etc.

Is there any other things that I can try?

Can you post your domain name?

Do you perhaps have a firewall that may be stamping outgoing mail with its IP rather than the public MX record IP?

I hope you find this post helpful.

timiskaminghu.com is the domain that is having the problems sending.

I hope that helps.

Well, I can confirm that I am seeing the RDNS looks good. Verify that your Exchange Server is not using a Smart Host. And check the firewall. If you can forward an email to your home you should be able to check the IP it states it came from. That way you can verify all is well on that end.

I hope you find this post helpful.
