e-Machine hangs at "e-Machine" splash screen

Hello-
I have one e-Machine on my network (not my doing!) and when it first starts up, either by reboot or fresh boot, it hangs at the "e-Machine" splash screen for about 3 minutes, then continues on to boot into windows. It wasn't doing that about 3 months ago, and I'm wondering what the cause/change is.
Any ideas?

It's doing BIOS things. There should be a way to see what is happening behind that screen. Some computers use esc key but I don't know what e-machines use.

Are you running Norton Anti-virus? I've noticed NAV 2002 has a tendency to cause a hangup on boot and shut down. Just a thought. Good luck.

the user says there's no a.v.- we're using norton. so there could be a problem with that.
