Can anyone explain how to test a E&M trunk port on an NT8d15 trunk card. I am having an issue with the LEC about proving which end is bad. If anyone has a good description of the testing procedure, I could really use it.

Thanks

wire the send of 1 trunk to the rec of the 2nd & vice versa. wire the e to the m lead for both. you then should be able to do back to back testing. most problems with e&m are
1. incorrect wiring
2. wrong type at each end

old people, like me, still hate those things. 4 wire e&m is most common, and a you know they have 6 wire, with a test set on xmit and rec. a ground on the e lead should give you dial tone from the far end. a ground on the m lead should give you dial tone from your switch. make sure you have your route programed to return dt., if that is what the other end needs. you can wire 2 back to back like the 1st reply said, and that will prove to you, that your software/hardware is right. but it will not prove it to the distant switch. Type B e&m used SF (signal Freq) instead of ground. Haven't seen either in years..

Hello, I am setting up SNMP on an 81c on 3.0. I have nearly everything the way that I want it to work with one exception: the traps still carry the default IP from the PBX instead the actual,...showing from 137.135.128.253. I created new hosts for the dual cps. I changed the elnk active and elnk inactive, but still show the default IP in traps. Does it take an INI to activate that change? Thank you for any assistance you may have.

i have seen a switch that did take an ini, it is not written that way in the book. remove the old ip.. for a new question please start a new post.. this site make $ based on visit's and post count and replies to new post as well as response time.. some of us don't have time to re-visit older post.. just a sugestion
