Is it a hot swapable card or do you have to power down?
Merlin

I assume it is a 400 E&M card, in which case, no. The Merlin should be powered down anytime a module is taken out, inserted, or replaced.

Thank you very much ! and yes it is a 400 E&M !
Have you ever heard of one going bad with changing volume levels on just one of the E&M trunks?
This one they say the it is like the vol. is ging up and down on it?

Wow , can I type or what!
Lots of mis-types there!

I haven't heard of that, but anything is possible. I wouldn't think it would cause the whole card to go bad. I would think it would just burn-up or busy out that specific port.

That's what I'm thinking, it's more likly the trem card we are using to match the line!
They have one for each trunk and they have a vol. adjustment on each.

Try swapping the line going to the suspected port with one that is known to be good. If the probelm follows, you know it is not the 400E&M.
