Does anyone know how to dynamically export a report to html. I want a new page for each parameter and each of those named differently. I know that I can export and choose each page but I have to do that manually for each parameter. How can I automate this?

I have Crystal 8.5 developer.

Thanks

By dynamically do you mean automate?

If you set the new page after at a group footer you'll get something like what you want, if you mean that you want a new page for each value returned for a given group (which perhaps is limited by some parameter).

In general it's best to supply technical information in lieu of descritpions:

Database/connectivity used
Example data
Expected Output
Parameters used and against which fields

Yes, I do mean automate this process.

I am using a SQL ODBC Connection

The report is grouped by department (which takes parameters) and then I have other fields that retrieve data from that department on the issue #, Status, priority, contact information, assisned to.

So, I need an html file for each department with the name of the department as the name of the html file.

For example, the first parameter would be passed, 'Assessment' and when that gets passed I need crystal to create and html file named assessment.html and go to the next parameter 'Board of Commissioners' and create another html file board of commissioners.html and so on.

There will be a few thousand of these parameters to pass through so it will be to difficult to keep pressing a button to execute this procedure. I have the parameters listed in an excel spreadsheet. I could also have them any any other format if that would assist in passing the data.

I am wondering if I can automate this through Crystal Developer and if so if you have any ideas to assist me.

I hope this provided better information. I do not usually do any work in Crystal so I am new to its features and have not found very good help documentation on developer.

Please let me know if providing the report would help and if so how I can do this through the forum.

Thank you for your help.

I see that you have an application that shows some similar capabilities? Does your app do this? Does your demo show this ability prior to purchase?

Thank you,
Heather

So I downloaded your product and I checked out the report that runs in bursting and that is great. I wanted to test it with our report and I have the group level 1 header that contains the parameter field, what formula needs to be in that? I see that you have a formula for yours does that need to be similar?

Will it not just use the parameter field?

Thank you.

Heather,

You simply need to place whatever you are grouping on in the GH1 or GF1 section. There are detailed instructions in the user manual.

Sending direct emails to the software provider, rather than using Tek-Tips, is a better approach for receiving tech support.
