hi guys,I was using a script to manually backup my sharepoint sites but had to manually add each site to the script when someone created them. This was tediuous and annoying, anyways, i ended up spending a long time looking for help on this and recently found a utility by webfox inc.
you can buy a utility to do this for like 399usd from them, i am a school so it is 299 usd for schools/gov... hope this elps
also, does anyone know where you can get good web parts?

Hi,

Thanks for sharing! Seems like a pretty OK solution. Only drawback is still the item-level backups. if someone deletes a single document or a list item you need to restore the complete site, I could not find anything on Webfox website that indicates it has item-level backup.
But for the price you seem to get a good product!

We have invested in DocAve ( from AvePoint to meet our needs, and that products is NOT cheap.

For webparts you can always check out the ShaerPoint Webcomponent Directory
Any specific kind of webparts you are looking for?

Cheers,
Thomas

Thanks for the sharepoint web part url, will definitely check it out. As for the webfox product, its been great, so far so good, have had to restore a few sites and moved a few sites around easily with it. we checked out other alternatives but they were a bit pricey for us. So when we do a restore, i have a site called backup so i restore anything we need there and takes about 5 minutes with their program. Also looking into project part for sharepoint by corasworks, anyone try that one?
