Is it possible to link the IPL:s defined in DAILI with particular DRA external destinations codes ? In that way , leased lines could be established over ordinary ISDN USR side trunks to more nodes depending on the dialled number.

Or do we need concretely leased lines (ISDN QSIG) for this ?

Or are there other methods to obtain the same ?
 
INDDAT parameter of ROEQI will do the trick I guess.
 
Does one VCU card provide more than 1 64kbs output channel ?

These eight standard configurations (plus two sets reserved for customer required configurations) are available. They derive from the following four different types of resources, which has been combined into different configurations used on the voice compression board:

4B (4 -> 1 compression)
3B+D (4 -> 1 compression, 16 kbit/s ISDN ECMA Q-SIG D-channel)
D16 (16 kbit/s ISDN ECMA Q-SIG D-channel)
D64 (64 kbit/s ISDN ECMA Q-SIG D-channel)

O is the voice compression output, i.e. the compressed channel.
B is the voice compression input, i.e. the uncompressed channels.
D16 is a 16 kbit/s ISDN ECMA Q-SIG D-channel.
D64 is a 64 kbit/s ISDN ECMA Q-SIG D-channel.

So the max amount of 64 kbs voice compression outputs from 1 VCU board is 2 ? (config 5, 6 7 or 8)
 
yes indeed : you can see like this :
1 VCU board can transform 2B+D line into 8B+D (config 5 or 6)
We have sites like this in service and i must say that the speech quality is not optimal, but it works nice...

Capacities and Limitations
3.5.1 Capacities
One compression rate 4 -> 1 using the LD-CELP algorithm (ITU-T rec. G.728).
One D-channel on a voice compression board can handle 32 B-channels.
The D-channel on a BRA interface can handle 32 B-channels if the interface is initiated to handle voice compression individuals.
In each LIM it is possible to initiate 38 voice compression boards.
In each LIM it is possible to initiate 240 ISDN external line individuals, this resource is shared between BRA/PRA and VCU inputs. Note: That the VCU output and the signalling terminal on the voice compression board requires external line individuals.


3.5.2 Limitations
Voice channels using voice compression and voice channels not using voice compression must belong to separate routes.
A signalling terminal on a voice compression board and its associated B-channels must all be situated in the same LIM.
Synchronization fault cannot be detected when all VCU inputs are used for time slot switching.
The compressed channels can only be transferred over digital trunk line interfaces.
The board configurations 5 -10 are not supported by the VCU/1 board (ROF 137 5407/1) and the VCU/3 board (ROF 137 5407/3).


 
Hi Whosrdaddy
I need help to set-up DRA and find ALEX not a lot of help. I need 12 channels of voice (12 compressed) to go over an existing ISDN30 (3 channels worth). I have 2 x SPU4 cards. I guess I set the SPU4 cards up 1st with DAREI. As I want the signalling to be dynamic I presume RESTYP to be 2 on -0 and 1 on the rest? Then I have to use route commands but unsure which to use etc. Can you point in the right direction. I don't chapter & verse just some guidelines.
