Hi group;

I'm making a cross tab report that prompts user to enter the current period.

Based on what user enters I want the report to show up to that period.
For example if user enters 2006-03, the columns would be
2006-01 2006-02 2006-03

if user enters 2006-04 then it would be
2006-01 2006-02 2006-03 2006-04

Is there any way to do this?

TIA;

Mitra

If you filter your report on the date entered, then make a date column that is formatted as YYYY-MM, this should display exactly what you are requesting.

Unless there is no data for some of the months, then things will get a little more challenging.

I am what I am based on the decisions I have made.

DoubleD

I have already the field with the format YYYY-MM

and i'm using that as my prompt.

But depending on the what user enters in prompt I want the column headings to change.

If user enteres 2006-03 at the prompt I want the column headings to be 2006-01 2006-02 2006-03

if user enters 2006-02 I want it to be
2006-01 2006-02

If you are filtering on the value entered in the prompt, and you have a formatted column in the columns section of the crosstab, then the column headers generated should act exactly as you are suggesting.
You should be filtering where your data is <= the entered prompt.

I am what I am based on the decisions I have made.

Thanks DoubleD. Yes, it' working.

In my colum, I'm using Data Definition with some if statements to relabel my coulmns and was making it complicated. That's why I couldn't see it.
