I have an R3 system with an ASA/DXD card. I have extentions from 11 to 40. My problem is that some of the extentions don't ring when the caller presses in the extention number and others ring back to extention 10 automatically. Any suggestions? Thanks
Thanks toolman18!
I just need a little clarificaton though. When you say "lines" do you mean the incoming lines or the extention lines. All incoming calls are recieved okay, it is just some of my extentions do seem to work with the DXD on. I think all extentions are programed because I can transfer calls to any extentions, but when a caller enters an extention number some don't work. Any "how to" advise on how to make sure the extentions are programed correctly with the DXD? Thanks for your help. I sure do appreciate it.
There's no extra programming other that to assign the lines to DXD, set the number of rings, and assign a DXD button to Ext. 10.
If it is not picking up extension numbers at times, you may have a bad touch tone receiver on one of your cards. Diffulcult to determine on an ACS. You could remove all the cards except the ACS and test, then add back cards one at a time to find the faulty one.
Is this a stand alone ACS or is it in a 5 slot cab? You said that you have stations 11-40 what happened to 10, Your ACS processor is in the middle slot then you will have 308's,206's or maybe a 012 or a 400 in the other slots to run your lines and stations those will be the cards TTT is talking about.
Yes, it is a 5 slot cab. I have the system in my motel. Extention 10 is the main desk phone. Extentions 11-40 are the room extentions. At night I turn on the DXD button so I don't get woke up. The caller can then dial in the room number(extention) of the party they are calling after the recorded message. My problem is that some of my extentions (room phones) don't seem to get the transfer and the call is directed back to 10 (the main desk).
If a caller doesnt know the ext and doesnt enter any digits the call will be tranferred back to ext 10 (or the transfer return ext) If the rooms have system phones, be sure DND isnt on.
Thanks toolman18
Yes, I know the call will be transfered back to ext 10 if the caller doesn't know the extention. That is working fine. Yes, the rooms have system phones....and the DND is not on.
