Hi..

I am looking for a conceptual model for Developing DW application (Retail banking)..

Any step-by-step approach available as to what exactly may be the requirements in a Retail Banking (framework)?

Can anyone help me out? Any document available on the net?

First of all look at the systems being employed in your organisation and their functions. You'll find the different systems from client facing (accounts, loans etc) to back end (reconciliations, .

(very important bit..)
Then go and talk to the business and get them onside - you'll need strong business leadership who really want to data warehouse.

Build a matrix (on paper) with your business processes down the left hand side and possible dimensions (i.e. entities that you could analyze by - date/time, client, account details, loan details, location amongst others) along the top. Then check the boxes for each matching process/dimension so you end up with a consice view of the business. Take this back to the business users (or develop it in conjunction with them.

You can then start your analysis and design phase.

hope this helps

I used to work for NCR, and they sold a retail banking data model and were capable of providing consulting to go with it. Of course they would then try to sell you teradata :)

But the data model was not teradata specific as I recall.
I wish I could give a contact... but alas I can't.
I bet you can find a contact if you poke around on their website tho.
