DVR installer

Hi

Everytime I start up my computer a program is trying to install called DVR installer.

This has only happened since I did a windows update the other day. The forum's search facility is not working at the moment, can anyone shed any light on what this is?

Hi

Tried the suggestions above and also restored my computer to an earlier point but the DVR installer is still showing and annoying!

Any suggestions to fix this guys?

Do you see it from Safe Mode, or as another user in Normal Mode?

and use the log file to figure out what is calling the installer to start. if you have any questions post the log file back here. if it is launching at boot it will show with this

The DVR was something to do with an add-on from Microsoft that creates effects in it's Windows Movie Maker. They are supposed to be some sort of extras but I cannot recall downloading these but they appear to be genuine.

I found them in the add/remove programs so I have removed them and everything is ok.

It is good you found the problem, but i can't find the "DVR Addon" for movie maker from Microsoft
could it be DVD or something else. I would watch for some some kind of spyware. I know I'm negative but that is how it is.

It came through as one of those regular Microsoft notifications that inform you about security issues, trial software and add-ons etc.

Not sure if you subscribe to that notification but I recall now, that's where it came from.
