I got this imac G4 700 mhz, but the guy who used to have it installed linux on it. How do I install mac os on it? I'm pretty sure it only has a CD drive and no DVD drive.

Any ideas will help.

I would not risk 10.4 on it. Get an older version of 10.3 and install. 10.3 can be obtained on CD from ebay or some similar reseller.

Did he not give you the CDs that originally came with it?

hmmm, what would I miss on a version 10.3 instead of 10.4? I must be missing alot if a DVD is 4 times bigger than a CD? :(

Does 10.4 use that much resources? that you wouldn't risk it?

Thanks :)

The OS comes on several CDs or one DVD. You do not miss anything but space in your file cabinet when you store the handful of CDs.
