whats happening is that on 1 machine runnign xp pro part way into transcoding the whole machine freezes ive updated nero to latest and still same happens so ive taken the dvd drive out and put it in another machine fresh load of xp and nero and this one comes up burn process failed
Let me know what the DVD Make and Model number is plus it's current firmware version. You can find out your firmware version number by using the free software available from here

the make and model of the drive is a btc dvd dual 8x the firmware is uptodate on the drive
the drive has been working ok in the past this last week has started giving me probs
Have you changed the media that you are using recently?
Is your XP updated to SP2? If so have the problems been since then?
You can try the system file checker, this will make sure that your system files are correct. Start > Run > Sfc /scannow. You will need your Windows XP cd.
Has anyone else noticed that, after installing iTunes, Nero can no longer "fix" the disc when burning? The last process consistently fails now that iTunes is installed.
I've tried un-installing iTunes, but it didn't help.
