Hi

We are about to install a critical reliability S8720/G650 CM4 ip-connect system.
I want to know, if the two IPSIs in each PN (duplicated IPSIs) have to be in different subnets or if they can both use the customer LAN.

Thanx

Yes, they can both use the customer LAN and a single subnet but then doesn't that defeat the purpose of critical reliability?

You should have at least 3 separate subnets. CNA, CNB and customer/VoIP Bearer. You should probably have several more depending on number of sites, IP Phone deployment, network security policy, etc...

Read the Avaya IP Telephony Deployment Guide, LAN Administrator Guide, Security and the S8700, and then pick up a couple of books related to nework security.

thank you for your response

Yes you are right, on the server side you have a single point of failure.

thanks again
