Can anyone tell me if it is possible to copy a tape to a new tape using the same robot under Veritas Netbackup 5?
Or for that matter, any means of dumping a tape to disk and copy from there??
Thanks in advance..

are you running on the windows or unix system?

I know in 6.0 (unsure if the cmd is there on 5.0???) you can use bpduplicate...pretty simple. bpduplicate -? will give you the switches that you need

It's under Solaris 9 and the backup drive is a Sun Storedge L8 with an 8 tape capacity..

duplication is a basic operation in Netbackup using the GUI under the catalog section or via the command bpduplicate as explained in the previous post

Just because the VERITAS documentation states something as certain, that does not make it a fact and that is truth.
