A user just created a profile in office 2007 and canceled before it was done, he then re-did it and it succeeded. What's left over is duplicate of every folder except inbox.. For example, this is what his mailbox looks like in folder view. As you can see, most are dupes. The dupes are completely empty while the primaries are full of good stuff. Any ideas??

originally that was the plan, but upon further research this is what I found..

apparently there are two sets.. one set of system folders(calander, contacts etc..) and one set of normal(deletable folders(calander, contacts etc..)) Oddly though it appears that all info has been stripped out of the users system folders and placed into the deletable folders.. so if I deleted all the normal folders he'd have no contacts, no calander, no tasks etc.. I did figure out how to permenantly remove system(special) folders, but I think in this case what I need to do(and have done) is I exported all of the folders that had info(his good contacts etc..) and what I will then do is import into the special folders all of that data. Once verified that the data exists and other people can see it, I will then delete the extra(deletable) folders.

Perhaps an easier approach than importing & exporting would be to change which folders are designated system folders.
Have you checked to see if there are multiple Data files?? (Tools, Options, Email Delivery Tab) If there are, go to the email accounts (Tools, Email Accounts, View or Change...) and it should show "Deliver mail to this location" and then list the Data files. You might have to use Trial & Error to figure out which Data file it is... but that should change which folders you can delete.

The path might be different in Office 2007... I'm still on office 2003.

Let me know if this works for you...

eh, I'm not sure if that would exactly work. The data files don't exist locally(I've mounted his mailbox in a brand new profile) and the folders still exist, so it's a problem that has replicated to his actual store on the server, not just on the clientside.

Are you using Cached Mode?

Check in OWA to see if those duplicates exist there as well.

Let us know.

cached mode - normally yes, but for my testing no(and it appears there)
OWA - it appears there as well.
