Duplicate addresses 1

I have a user who has been having problems with her address book on her blackberry, she gets duplicate copies of names in her address book. She was running version 3.7 but I upgraded her to 4.0 and we recently upgraded our server to 4.0 also. I had hoped that after i blew away her bb and upgraded her to 4.0 it would have taken care of the problem but it hasn't, the problem is still there. Anyone ever see this or have any idea of how to stop the duplicating problem?

Are you sure they are duplicates? One character differnces will make them unique.

On her Handheld scroll to address book, press the track wheel for the menu to come up, select 'options' then change 'Allow Duplicate Names' to 'No'. Hope that helps.

By any chance is this user also a palm pilot user? I mean any type of palm os device?

thanks for all your replies to my little problem here! We found the problem, the user had a subfolder under her contacts folder casuing it to create duplicates. Soon as we had her delete the folder the duplicates went away.

This was very helpful. I too upgraded my BES to 4.0. and discovered a few users with duplicate addresses. Thanks.
