Hi there.
I'm having an issue with my Toshiba Libretto 70. This sub-notebook has only one PCMCIA slot, and I use a Megahertz CC10BT/2 10mbps ethernet card to access high-speed internet at work and a Megahertz 3CXM556 56k modem for at-home internet access. I just swap the cards when I want to switch internet connections. I am running Windows 98.
Here's the issue:
Installed Windows 98, DUN, and TCPIP,etc. Set up the modem & ethernet card drivers. Everything was working great for a few days. Then, every time I connect with my modem it dials out ok, and immediately gives me "Error 629-You have been disconnected from the computer you are dialing." I tried removing all of the protocols under "Network" in the control panel, and uninstalling Dial Up Networking & reinstalling everything (including the drivers)to no avail. Finally after many attempts to fix the issue, I just reformatted & reinstalled Win98. It fixed it for a few days and then *Poof*, the same issue again. I think maybe something in the registry is goofed up or maybe a Windows file is corrupt, but I have no idea where to go from here. My ethernet connection at work is still good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Bob
