Is it possible to dump a routers config to the console so it can be saved?

We've got a 1600 series router on our leased line, but have an old copy of its config and i'd like to see what its currently set up to actually do right now!

I've seen the FAQ on how to make the router drop it over to a tftp server, but ew dont have a tftp server and snmp appears to be disable on the router also!

Depending upon what terminal program you are using... from Hyperterminal, you can to a <transfer><capture text> and then specify a log file... or just cut and paste to a text file from the terminal window.

yes, but what do i tell the router to produce the config in the first place? :)

show startup-config for what's saved in nvram, and/or
show running-config for what the router is currently using (in case you've made changes and they are different, probably not)...

thanks for the quick response, but-
[tt]1600>show startup-config
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

1600>show running-config
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.[/tt]

Code:
CSMACC01>show startup-config
                 ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

CSMACC01>show running-config
               ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

you must be in privileged exec mode to issue those commands...

type 'enable'... might ask for a password if one's set, hopefully you know it.
