Dumb Merlin Mail question

I'm planning a legend system that will include a Merlin Mail 4 port VM. Do I need a TTR board for callers to be able to interact with an autoattendant? I'm afraid I do, but wanted to make sure. Thanks!

Hi Sam

certain Legend mods have TTRs built in. 012, 016, 400TTR etc. So does the Merlin Mail 007.

Check documentation for how many are on each type of mod.

the TTR circuits are additive and are shared throughout the system (I think).

Simple Sam,

You didn't mention if your Merlin Mail was the MLM-007 integrated VM or the Merlin Mail Standalone PC based VM.

If you have the integrated MLM-007, you shouldn't need additional TTRs unless your configuration requires additional TTRs for other operation with modules.

If you do have the standalone Merlin Mail, you will need an 012 or 016 module w/ Ring Generator to "manage" the 4 voice port communications from the Merlin Mail standalone.

Oops, the VM is a Merlin Mail, 4 port external box. Yes I got a GS/LS to control it but want to make sure autoattendants and outside users will work. I do have an OPT 8 card in my system, the Reference book says it has two TTR's. Is stratagydk right, can those TTR's be used for my dialin Mail users? Thanks much!

Yes, then can.

Remember, you must have a 012 or 016 board to connect the Merlin Mail system to for analog ports. The OPT boards do not work for this. It states that clearly in the installation manual. The 012 or 016 must have a ring generator, or the power supply must have one.
