Dual Pri card = T1 stays in alarm after reboot

I'm starting a new thread that picks up where this one left off:

IP412 Version 3.1 (65) Dual PRI/T1 card in slot A
When the system is rebooted, the T1 line goes into alarm. The only way to clear the alarm and get it functioning again is to unplug the T1 line and then plug it back in. I had technicians from Verizon checking the T1 and said it had to be a problem with IP Office. I oppened a case with Avaya. They believe it is a software bug. I'll post back when I know more. I'm running a monitor log and waiting for the system to reboot, so I can send Avaya the information.

Anyone else seeing this problem?

Thanks,
Tom

Well, the problem has not been resolved and now it's too late. Due to another issue with the T1, we are having it removed and going back to POTS lines. It's quite discouraging. I worked for weeks to get the problems resolved, but in the end I had to throw in the towel. Verizon was not able to fix our outbound caller ID problem on the T1. Everyone we called sees "unknown number". They can't fix it and we can't live with it; so it's back to POTS.

I still don't know what is to blame for the T1/PRI staying in alarm after a reboot. I'll probably never know at this point.

I had a similair issues (412 at 3.1.65) with 2 dual port PRI boards. Had 3 T1's and 1 PRI. Only on the PRI did the circuit not come back up after a reboot. Our first level told us it was possible the distance from smartjack to the IPOffice and suggested adding a CSU. When I asked if they knew of these issues at other sites, they said nothing had been reported to them nor had Avaya given them any heads up about known issues.

The saga continues

It is unfortunate that there has been no resolution. Our situation is unchanged as well, when I need to add or change users or ICR etc., I merge the config and hope it takes... because if I need to wait until I can soft reboot the 412... it will go into a boot loop until we physically unplug power to it to hard reset the switch and our dual PRI cards go into alarm and also need to be unplugged to be reset. As for distance... the two PRI's are connected to the 412 slot A via a 10 foot cable from the telco demarc, so distance is not an issue with us here at all. I am researching upgrading to 3.2 in the hope it might help.

Question.... You said both are set for NETWORK and one is unused. I believe only one is supposed to be Network and a second one for Fall back, everything else UNSUITABLE.

I would suggest not telling the system to rely on the clocking of a span you don't use. I didn't read the entire thread so someone may have suggested this, but htought I'd throw that out there.
