Setup:
Windows server 2003 running TS RDP 5.2 (Can I upgrade that to 6.0 without upgrading to Vista?)
Client on PC RDP 6.0

When I run the mstsc / span it makes the 1st monitor larger with scroll bars but i never actually enlarges the RDP session. Is this becasue the server is only on RDP 5.2? I would over to get that to RDP 6.0 but I cant justify upgrading the server?

I just want a dual monitor option to give a few select terminal services users more desktop work area.

I tried the suggestion and on screen 1 I get a scroll bar on bottom and side but the RDP session is not expanding to the other screen at all.

I think the problem is that mstsc /span only matches the remote desktop width and heighth to the local virtual desktop.

To span across monitors, the monitors must have the same height and be aligned vertically.

Try setting both of your monitors to the exact same size.

It works fine for me when I set the RDP connection display properties to "full screen". It will span all four monitors for me without issue.

Verify "full screen" by clicking OPTIONS>DISPLAY in the RDP client before connecting.
