Hey, I have a question. Right now I have a wired network with a Linksys BEFSR41. Sometimes I have friends come over with laptops that have wireless cards. It gets to be a pain dragging switches and cables all over the house to give them internet access. I also own a Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless Access Point Router that I would like to add to the network giving my house wireless access. I need to know how to configure the routers to work together, be able to share files, etc... My current network can be seen here...
I would like to use the wired router as the gateway that assigns IP addresses and is connected to the internet and have the wireless one behind it acting as an access point. Thanks. -Brian.

Connect wired to the BEFW11S4. Set it to a static ip in the non-DHCP range of the BEFSR41; 192.168.1.2 for example. Subnet 255.255.255.0, Gateway the IP of the BEFSR41, usually 192.168.1.1. Set it Router, not Gateway mode. Disable DHCP.

Now connect the uplink port of the BEFW11S4, not the WAN port, to a regular LAN port on the BEFSR41. Use a straight-thru cable.

It might be worthwhile getting firmware updates to both. The BEFSR41 was just upgraded last week. The BEFW11S4 is version dependent on its most recent firmware.
