I have to install a MICS next week that has two t1's. All 48 channels are inbound and outbound, with the incoming hunt starting with channel 1. The problem is they have DID numbers coming down all 48 channels as well. I have set up many T1's on the Nortar just not with DID, plus inbound and outbound on them and being used for inbound and out bound.

Second, do I need XC for the second T1?

If anyone can help that would be great!

No you do not have to have XC to run two T-1's. That's only if you are using two 6 port expansion cards.

You would have two DTI cards and perhaps a 6 port Combo card to give you DTMF receivers and clocking. If you expect to have heavy traffic on both T-1s then I would also put a Services card in slot 1 to provide more DTMF receivers. The rest is just programming. The following will tell you how to do that:

How to Install a T1:

You must have either a Services Cartridge (slot 1) or a 6-port Combo card (slot 2) in order to provide clocking for the T-1. Only one of these is needed, even if you have two DTI cards.
The DTI card should go into Slot 4 first. If you have a second card it would go into Slot 3.
You must disable the card first, program the card for T1, then re-enable the card.

OR to split off data channels after 0X32 they’ll need a Nortel Data Interface (NDI) plus bandwidth allocation key codes}

Re-enable the card in Maintenance now.
