I recently purchased a new computer with Windows ME installed.Doing an fdisk,i created two partitions in it,And recovered Windows ME in the first primary partition,c:. Then,i started Me ,inserted Cd and continued to install Windows 2000 in D:,the second partition. The system then rebooted, and the boot menu with windows2000 and windows Me came. But,after entering windows 2000 from there the setup continued and gives a message that windows 2000 could not install since C: was corrupt.
Why does this error occur each time i try to install 2000?
All suggestions are welcome.

Do a scandisk and defrag of Windows ME (Drive C:). Then try the install again. James Collins

hi abcdzac
r u using a win me bootdisk to boot ur computer? if so, then boot your computer with a Microsoft Windows 98 Startup disk (so that you can access your CD-ROM drive), and then run Windows 2000 Setup.
well if it gives u a error stating :Setup was unable to install Windows Boot Loader
then i only know one option, format your hard disk with a Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows 95 Startup disk, and then run Windows 2000 Setup.
