OK, folks, I have a slightly weird one--at least to me.

Is it possible to dual-boot Windows 2000 and Windows 2000: The same OS, with the same Product Key? I have a situation where I may need to dual-boot, and I don't want to have to buy a second OS or use Linux.

I can't see why not, but I wanted to check if anyone had ever tried this.

Thanks in advance!

Why not?

Should work fine. Do not use the same computer name if on a Domain. Treat it is a new workstation on the Domain.

It would be best not to do a "parallel" installation where both are on the same partition and drive, although you can.

I was going to set it up in a seperate partition, on the same drive.

Thanks, bcastner!

Issue: One of my program file folders opens on my W2k desktop at start up. How can I prevent this from occuring.
Note: I recently completed a clean reinstall of W2k along with a couple dozen programs. This is a personal computer and the setup is non-raid. With the exception of the above issue, the system is working fine.

dxwoo - please start a new thread for your question.
(something like autoruns from or startupcpl from Mike Lin will let you edit what start's up with windows).
