Hi, i have a problem... actuqally a question.

Ok, i have 2 different HDs partitioned into a total of 6 drives. Now I have Windows XP on Drive C: and want to install Windows ME on Drive E:

Now, that is not really a problem. The main thing is, I want to have a DOS menu, at system boot-up, asking me which windows to start. I have seen this done before, and I really need to know how to do it. It is URGENT. U suspect I have to modify something in Autoexec.bat telling it to ask me. Please reply soon.

Overview:
1. Want to Install Win ME onto Another Harddrive
2. Need to know how to have a Menu ask me which system to start.
3. Need to know this ASAP

Thanx in advance,
Mikelo2k:)

P.S Anyone have sympatico High Speed running on WinXP?

There are different ways of doing this. The one I know is You need to install WinME on drive C: FIRST. Then install Win XP on Drive D: Once you have installed XP it will automatically give you a boot menu to choose your boot OS. (though you may have to adjust later the lenght of time it stays up.) There are third party programs out there that will allow you to do it other ways. BUT with out them you NEED to install Win ME FIRST on drive C: Then Win XP on D:.

Hope this helps

Unhook drive C.
Make E your boot drive, fdisk, MAKE ACTIVE, format and sys it.
Install ME.
Hook the drives back up, so it boots to XP again.
Go get a boot loader from it's free, and a really good one. Install it.
Now you can boot from either drive.
Cheers,
Jim

Ok, thanx guyz but I solved my problem much easier!
All I needed to do was install Windows ME on my other HD, D:
Which was the one I was going to install to anywayz (correction from E:).

Thanx for all the help guyz,
Mikelo

Yep, all I did was install ME on drive D:
And the Boot-Up selection menu was automatically there.

Thanx,
