Hi.

I have laptop with one partition (20GB), which has win2k Pro on it.
Is there any way I can install on it win2k Server ON THE SAME PARTITION, so I will have dual boot with it?

A friend of mine told me I can do that if I install the win2k Server on a different directory (not \WINNT). Is that true?

If this is impossible, is there any way I can install programs which requires win2k Server (Such as Sharepoint) on a win2k Pro?

Thanks!

Putting both OSes on the same partition should be fine. Win2K Pro should be loaded first and it will use the \winnt folder. Win2K server will want to use the same, but just change it to \winntserver. Then you should not have any issues and you will just dual boot. James Collins

And in that case, should I install all the apps again for the Win2k Server, or can I share apps (such as Office, SQL Server etc.) between both the OS?

You wil have to install all apps twice. Once in Pro and once in Server as far as I know. James Collins

Thanks, butcheron.

I've installed the win2k Server on the same partition, and so far it works fine.

I've installed some of my apps (such as office) in their original directory, and they work fine.

Thanks for your advice.
