What is the RJ45 jack on the bottom of a M3110 used for?

If I am not totaly wrong, its to connect adaptors such as MCA, ATA ....

So i cannot connect the analog phone to the rj45 without some kind of adapter in between? Do i have to make any configuration changes to be able to connect a analog phone to the M3110?

Sorry i dont understand. Is it yes for both my questions. I need a adapter and configuration changes? Where can i find the adapter and what config changes must i do?
