DTMF Tones stop working on 9508 Phones

We just installed a system running 7.0.23 patched in basic mode. It replaced a partner and the customer demanded that it mimic the partner no matter how much we begged. We have an issue where when they go off hook they get dial tone but when they start to dial there is no DTMF output and of course nothing happens. Unplugging the phone and plugging it back resolves the issue for a few days but then it comes back. It has happened randomly on several extensions that are on different DS8 cards. Has anybody seen this or have any ideas on what the problem could be?
 
I am guessing you have not heard back on the case yet?

Yes, because it doe snot appear to be happening on release 8.0
If you do have this problem on 8.0 then you better raise this as a big.

Marcus,

You said you fixed the echo by turning ACG off and echo cancellor on for the extensions. Do you mean under line configuration? I don't see those settings under extensions and I have a similar issue going on with a client. It would be amazing if I could resolve their echo issues.
 
The setting is on the phone itself under advanced options.

I am raising a ticket with Avaya on this as my customer is getting more impatient. We actually moved them back to 7.0.27 with the patch as they said it happened less frequently with 7.0 and they want call twinning. Did you pressure Avaya any for a private build for this problem? Just kind of curious as to what my chances are of getting this resolved before the next release.
 
I did not have the issue yet but i had one 9508 stuck once (30 phones)
We will see what happens, it is only 8 weeks until the end of March :)

I thought you posted on Jan 9th that you had this problem...
 
The DTMF issue is now know by AVAYA. Simply pressing the phone/exit key will fix the DTMF issue instantly. This happens randomly and when the user enters into the contacts menu and then doesn't exit. The phone times out and seems to be in a normal state, when in fact it isn't.

There is a patch to fix the contacts menu issue but the random still seems to haunt the system. Train the end user to simply press the phone/exit button. We have not heard from any of our customers regarding this issue after we relayed this info.
