We have an IPO500V2 9.0.5 with Comcast analogue lines, and a mix of 1416 and 9508 digital phones. We have been having a problem where DTMF tones stop sending in the middle of calls. Our caller reaches a vendor's auto-attendant, hits keys for options, and at some point the tones stop registering.

DTMF on the analogue lines is set for 80/80 and gain is 0/0. Some posts suggest changing DTMF to 100/80, and others suggest reducing gain to -.5.

Any suggestions?

Posted this one late last night, so I'm not sure if anyone saw it. I forgot to mention that the Combo cards are V1, and the problem is happening on both the 1416's and the 9508's.

Have you used a Test set on the lines directly to see if it could be a comcast issue.

I have not done that yet. The problem has been intermittent. I did setup Monitor, and instructed the customer to do a Log Stamp when the problem occurs, so I can perhaps narrow it down to a particular line or extension(s) for further testing. I suspect a Comcast issue, but I had also read of similar issues where the length of the tone or db level caused DTMF problems. The problem is happening less frequently since Comcast swapped out their EMTA last week, but it is still happening from time to time.

I've had a similar problem recently, while on the local embedded vm. After the initial login, no dtmf whatsoever.

After tinkering left and right, turned out to be the cabinet itself. If you have a spare (at the same major release of course), try swapping it.
