DTMF Tones off a Button 1

Has anyone worked out a workaround to get a DSS (Button) on a 5410 / 5420 to send DTMF tones? Seems mad making button not send DTMF.... every other switch in the world does.....

look forward to some creative replies!

Example,

Door entry.

Button = Door
Dial = 85

no DMTF only a digital dial.....

Any thoughts?

try Dial D85
I am not sure if the 'D' for dtmf will work in button programming - if not create a short code


SC <some number>
feature Dial
tel D85.

set the buttom to dial short code.

Hmmmm - doesnt seem to work.....

D "Wait for a connect message before sending any following digits as DTMF. "

If I dial another handset, hit my "Door" button, i dont get any DTMF.....

Abbreviated Dial - action = 85 seems to send DTMF tones!

there is several know issues with ds phones not sending DTMF

What version of software are you running.

If you at v4.0 and above and have not gone to 3.2 (99) on the ds modules then the dtmf will stop working

there is also a couple of CQ numbers referencing the problem

Hi VoiceonData,

its currently a 3.2(61) switch - its a (semi-rare) 403DS so no 4.1 for it....

however, dialing DTMF from the keypad works, just not as a DSS key.

set it as an Abb Dial and job done!
