Hello all.

Great forum!! Have found this useful many times and have applied the advice on here to solve many of my phone issues.

I have the same problem with 2 different systems. 1 of my customers has an IP500V2 8.0.(18) with 137 extensions. This system has been operating for a couple of years now.

The other customer has an IP500V2 9.0.0.829 with 37 extensions. This system has been running for about a month

In both systems is the same problem. when a page over phones is made there is a DTMF tone over the page. It doesn't happen every time a page is made but more frequent than not. i have made it do this and i cant figure out what is doing it. It is like a key is being pressed down while a page is made.

Both systems are setup the same way. Standard hunt group. No queuing, no overflow, no vm
buttons applied through a user right. button action is group page tagged to the group for page.

i have rebotted both systems but it only seems to last a couple of days.

I have seen the same problem posted on here after a search but there was no resolution.

Any ideas???? Im stumped

Thanks for your time in reading this.

Internal or external page?
I create a dedicated paging group called paging with the members in it in addition to the normal ring group. Set it to collective CW. No oflow. No vm.

Watch the call filters in monitor to see what is happening.
Also i find 9.0.5 to be pretty stable.

Why can't you ask Ava this?

Is it truly a DTMF tone, or an alert tone? Some external paging equipment will add an alert tone.

It is an internal paging to the phone sets. After the initial beep from the phone you get the tone. Both systems are setup the same way. Standard hunt group. No queuing, no overflow, no vm and yes they are setup as collective CW.

Im running a monitor right now to see but i cant see anything out of the ordinary.

I was trying to resolve this quickly without having to jump through all the hoops from Avaya and it might take a week or 2 for them to figure it out.

Thanks for the help all. We found out in both cases that it was a phone issue. Both phones were 9508 series and in one case it was a key problem. Replaced both phones & the problem went away.
