I have a IPOffice 500, which has phones that cannot command VMPro after connecting or make DTMF choices when calling outside the system. (Example - dialing a pharmacy to renew a prescription)
I have changed the 30 Port Module - this is where the phones are located that lose the ability to communicate. The switch is at 4.2 (20).
Any thoughts?

can you do it from a analog phone or ip phone? Lots of chatter her regarding digi phone modules and dtmf. You may want to search for it.

The expansion modules needs to be stepped through the 3.2.999 loader if you don't this is exactly what happens, a power cycle will fix it temporarily until you back it through the loader :)

The above is only true of Digital v2 exapansion modules though :)

It's all digital phones, it is a V2 module that I will attempt to step upgrade again tonight and see if it happens anymore. I thought the DTMF senders were in the module, but had begun to question myself after putting in the new module. Will let everyone know if reloading fixes the issue, it takes approximately 5 days for it to quit working.

Thanks for all the input..

How many Modules do you have?

There is a bug in the newer releases, but only on module port 1.
So you could try to use port 2 or put a Analog module (if you have one) on port 1 and the digital on port 2.

I have seen this a lot on Modules that were not upgraded to the 3.2.999 first.

Thanks to all, I had run the trouble to the module and it's DTMF senders, and after changing it out felt very confident of the solution. Last night I did the downgrade and upgrade, if it occurs again we will swap module ports with the Analog 16 and go from there.
Thanks for all the prompt responses, if you don't hear back from me, consider all your advice as profitable.

I just had the same issue with a system that was installed in september. It came with a 4.0 firmware so should I downgrade it and upgrade it, move it to port 2 or both?

There are rumours that any the software issue is obscure and can't be replicated in the labs... It seems you can avoid issues using the 3.2.999 loader every time you upgrade the expansion module, regardless of starting version if the destination version is greater than 4.0

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
