What the error is mean: "Alarm indication signal; AI"?
I received messages:
DTA203 23 32
DTA203 0 32
DTA203 22 32
DTA203 1 32
DTC017
DTA215 0 AI
DTA215 1 AI
DTC006
DTA215 22 AI
DTA215 23 AI, before DTI2 loops is in OOS state.
If this is a dual port T1 card It looks like you may have a problem with this card (loop 22 and 23). I would recommend first disable the loops and reseat the card and re-enable the loops. if problem continues - replace card or roll with another in your system to see if problem follows.
Thanks for answer, Reusser. I have four DTI2 E1 cards - QPC536E (0,1,22 and 23 loops).
This cards is used for communication to PSTN through optofiber modem. Sometimes all cards is in OOS state, approx 2 times in 24 hours.
Is it possible that the errors DTA203 x 32 and DTA215 x AI related to malfunction of the transmission equipment (optofiber modem) or to an internal Meridian-1 failure?
You should connect some monitoring equipment for your t1s. In the US I would use a TBerd - maybe someone can recommend you could use. This equipment will monitor the circuit and can tell you which side your loss is comming from DTI2 or optofiber modem or telco provider.
I had an E1 with a faulty radio link and that was solved by changing one of the radio units. It would be too casual that 4 E1 cards or their cabling were bad. My bets are for the backbone (from optofiber modem to your telco) which is the common factor.
I'm not sure but AIS is related to some errors reported in TS0.
You can check other errors in LD 60 with LCNT X (0,1,22,23)
If the failure is too frecuent I wouldn't recommend reseting the loops because it could cause some other cards like the Perisignal card get disabled.
If this is a new T-1, check to insure that your programming and T-1 parameters matches what the providers is sending you or what you requested is what is being provided. Next, if you are lucky enough to have a T-Berd, use it to monitor the line, if you don't, try using a loopback plug (DB15) with pins 1 shorted with 3 and pin 9 shorted with 11, attached this to the T-1 card on the swith and run your diagnostic on LD 60, if it enables where all the channels go into idle for a DTI or maint/busy for a PRI card, the problem lies on the network side. If it does not, the problem lies in the card. Good luck.
