Hey guys,

So I've been browsing around this forum for a while and it seems that this is the place for answers to my phone system questions. I do not have experience in phone systems (yes I'm a lowly user :( ). However, I am relativly technically inclined and pick things up pretty fast. I previously had an issue where the wrong line was ringing on my phone and got ahold of our IT department which took about a week to respond to our trouble ticket. I then watched what they did to fix it and it was nothing more than 9001>ext#,key#

Now knowing how easy of a fix that was there are other issues where I can improve the productivity of my office but I don't know the commands (ie. 9001 is for turning ringers on/off). So, question 1: Is there a consolidated command list? A cheat sheet if you will?

Question 2 is slightly more specific. There is a phone in our office which had lines assigned to keys 1, 2, and 3. When the IT guys came we wanted them to make line 1 ring but instead they misunderstood what was written in the work order and turned off keys 1 and 2. We still want all three lines on though. So how do I turn the keys associated with those lines back on? I know I'll prolly have to use the 9001 command to change what line rings but I already understand how to do that.

Thanks in advance guys!

Also from browsing the boards it seems I'm using a NEC 2000 IVS2 or IPS system. Don't know if that helps or not but there ya go.

I've been there and the only manual with commands that seems applicable is the NEAX 2000 IVS Command Manual and I cannot understand it.

Okay I figured out how to add lines to the keys. Turns out a phone number is a "trunk." I didn't know that. So I need to use
Code:
9000>221,01
9000>221,01:NONE- (I press "speaker")
9000>221,02:NONE- (speaker)
9000>221,03:D015-

So I see there is no trunk assigned to line one or two so I started to assign lines to the unused keys so I could make a table to figure out what trunk is what number. But now that I've started that I can't figure out how to get the key back to "NONE". Help please!

In order to clear the addon module from it just hit "CCC"

Find the feature programming manual. If you can't find it for the IPS or IVS2 then try the IVS. Whilst there are differences, you will be able to work them out and it will guide you in most things! If you have an IPS you need to know that in order to make your changes permenant, you need to execute command EC6 at the end of the programming session. This writes the changes to flash! If its anything earlier this is not needed!

I haven't needed to use EC6 command so I must have IVS2.

Your system probably hasn't reset yet either! With an IPS, the changes you make will take effect immediately but if there is a reset or power outage, it will reload from flash and if you haven't saved your changes.......!

Well when the IT guys came before they didn't save anything either.

Sorry

I was assuming you were seeking advice, I had no idea you knew it all!

I will leave you to your own devices! As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink!

Good luck!

Reminds me of being at the NEC training center, taking the 2000 certification class.

The instructor drummed it into our heads "EC6".

During lunch, he came by and unplugged everyone's machines we had been programming all morning.

I was the only one who had saved my data in the whole class. ;)

Just my 2¢
