I was wundering, if it is poosible to download the contents of a phone book from a DT690 to the Aastra WinPDM, and upload to another DT690?
In the Win PDM it says "upload", but the text is not active.
Maybe you have some hints.
I was contacted by a "good source", and was told how to fix this issue.
The procedure is as follows:
1. It requires an Aastra DT390 or DT690 DECT handset and an advanced charger (with the Aastra number BML351061/1 R1A) with USB connection to your PC.
2. WinPDM program must be running on your PC.
3. The following software versions be used:
a. Win PDM must be version 3.1.8.
b. DT390/690 be in version 2.8.19.
c. The charger s/w should be in version 1.3.8.
To install the phone book use the worksheet (Excel) "Company Phone Book". This document should be completed, saved, converted (to "cpb" file format) and loaded into the phone.
After the worksheet is completed, press the button "Create Phone Book" and the file format is changed to "CPB" format.
In Win PDM find the DECT handset to which the phone book should be loaded, and do a "right-mouse" click on it.
Hereby the option: "Load phone book" appears, click on it and in a few seconds the phone book is loaded into the DECT handset.
Please note that the s/w of all device should minimum be the mentioned levels.

If you stick to the s/w levels written, it wil work.
You can just paste an existing phonebook into the worksheet (Excel) "Company Phone Book" with first name, last name and phone number. Then convert the excel to the format requested by the DECT handset.
The Win PDM program takes care of syncronizing the user settings, including personal phone book. For instance, if you replace one DT360/DT690 you can transfer user settings, stored in Win PDM to an replacement phone.

I'am in error???
The syncronization process is more or less completly automatic. When you insert the phone into the desktop programing unit, which is connected via USB to your PC, the program will detect the phone and ask you if you would like to store the phone in the PDM "database", then every time you insert the phone into the programming unit, the sync process start.
That's it.
Then if you need to replace a phone, the program can the sync/transfer the user settings, including the personal phone book to a replacemnt unit. This function is sometimes calld "Virtual SIm" in the docs.
