I'm a bit lost. Im trying to locate documentation on how to apply my DST patch to my S8500 running CM 2.1.

I'm very familiar with upgrading firmware on my circuit packs, but have never installd a patch like this. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks!!

This should help. Read through it carefully and you should be OK.

Read through the FAQ and had a question. Do I have to apply the patch to all my gateways, or will file synchronization take care of them? IE I update my 8500 with the patch and then it pushes to the 8300's. Thanks.

I don’t have the ESS or LSP configurations so I am unsure. Someone else I gave the upgrade instructions to told me that they needed to be done before you upgraded the servers.

Good info here for those of you in a last minute panic. Thought I would give it a bump.

Here are my step by step instructions for those of you who need help:

Basic Step by Step Instructions:

Step 1 Download the appropriate patch to your PC.
Step 2 Web into your S8700/8500/8300 by using the servers IP address.
Step 3 Click on the "Launch Maintenance Web Interface"
Step 4 Under the Security Section on the left hand side click on FTP and verify that anonymous is enabled, if not enable it
Step 5 Under the Miscellaneous Section on the left hand side click on "Download Files"
Step 6 Activate the "File(s) to download from the machine I'm using to connect to the server" and click on one of the browse buttons and locate your patch.

***** DO NOT CHECK THE BOX MARKED INSTALL THIS FILE ON THE LOCAL SERVER *****

Step 7 Click on download now. You will receive a confirmation message that the file was downloaded.

Step 8 From your PC open a command prompt and telnet to the same IP address you used in step 2.

ex c;\windows>Telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Step 9 Login using your ASA username and password
Step 10 execute the following command "cd /var/home/ftp/pub"
Step 11 execute the following command "dir" This should list all of the patches that have been downloaded to that server. -- Now look for the patch file you uploaded in step 7. If you can not locate the patch call me for help.
Step 12 execute the following command "update_unpack ##.#.###.#-012514.tar.gz" where ##.#.###.#-012514.tar.gz if your patch
Step 13 execute the following command "update_activate ##.#.###.#-012514" Note I removed the .tar.gz You should receive a message that the patch was activated successfully. If not call me for help
Step 14 Log into ASA and use the following 2 commands to correct the daylight savings time change

Command 1 -- Set Time -- Use this to locate the Daylight Savings Rule number. In most cases it should be 1
Command 2 -- Change Daylight-savings-rules -- use this to change the rule number you located using the "Set Time" command to reflect the following:

Start: first Sunday on or after March 8 at 02:00 01:00
Stop: first Sunday on or after November 1 at 02:00

Step 15. Done!
