Does a dsp calculator exist to figure out how many medpro boards are required to handle a given audio load?
Lets assume the following:
G.729 across wan
TN2302 Medpro has 32 dsp resoures using g729
No fax or other call types used
250 simultaneous calls are in progress
Main site:
1 s8710, pn's with trunks to pstn
Remote Port network contains:
1 ipsi
1 clan
1 medpro tn2302
250 digital phones off of remote PN(no ip phones)

How do i calculate if 1 medpro can handle this load??

I found a document Avaya 555-245-600 page 173 Table 31.
I'm guessing based on my calculation below that 1 medpro
is sufficient. Would like to know if i'm calcuating this correctly.
Minutes of traffic in the hour = number of calls x duration
Minutes of traffic in the hour = 250 x 5
Minutes of traffic in the hour = 1250
Hours of traffic in the hour = 1250 / 60
Hours of traffic in the hour = 20.8
Traffic figure = 20.8 Erlangs (1 medpro)...

you might find it better to ask this in the Avaya Definity forums
