i guess im trying to understand the proper way you use DSP's. We tend to have shed loads of DSP's at our corp site, that the remotes use, is that normal?
Yes you can use remote DSP's for transcoding, conferencing etc.
If you take out the NM module you will not have enougn DSP's for an FXO and a PRI.
4port FX0 = 4 DSP's
PRI = 24 DSP's
The PVDM2-16 only gives you 16 and you will need 28.
Here is a link from cco that has a DSP calculator. That should also help you out.
Its interesting to note that most of our outbound calls go out of our central office so it makes sense that we centralize the majority of our DSP's there.
However they never setup "dspfarm confbrige" instead it just uses transcoding for conf resources, interesting.
