DSP Card

Hi all,

I have an issue with a Mitel 3300 MX Controller stating that 25% of the DSP resource is unavailable. The system has a single Quad DSP card on board. I have tried, at Mitels suggestion, removing power and then powering back up but had no joy. I have also replaced the DSP with another from stock and get the same error. If I put both card in the system I get 50% resource unavailable!!!

What problems, if any, would the DSP card fault cause?

Does anyone know of a fix for this or is it time to buy new DSP's?

Edited to ask: Could this cause issues with voicemail / RADs etc as they have just started playing up! Oh Joy!

Have you tried the card in a different slot?

Hi Matt, thanks for getting in touch.

Yes the first thing I did was to change the DSP from slot 4 to 3 where I still got the 25% failure error, after which I installed the second DSP and got 50%.

If you installed a sencond DSP and it increased the alarm %, you may want to look at your licenses, you may not have enough.

Just a thought.

I have had an issue before with the same type of fault, it turned out that it was the inbuilt DSP card.... i had to replace the controller and this fixed the problem.

Someyhing else to consider is the type DSP (Dual or Quad) this has an affect on the controller type.

You cannot modify alarm thresholds for DSP's

Replace or fix are your only options, with fix being unlikely in my experience.

I know about the thresholds. Its a pain in the backside isnt it?! Especially when the customer is one of those "anti red flashing light" fellas! haha

Replace is the order of the day. :-(
