Whenever I try to created an ODBC datasource in the ODBC sources folder in Windows on a PC running Windows 2000, I get 'The filename is invalid!' from a 'Save File DSN' dialog box. When I tried to save it to another folder, I was able to get to the very last step of the operation (after picking the Access file). When I clicked finish however, I got 'The file data source was not saved' from a 'Create Data Source' dialog box.
This ODBC is for an RSView32 project that is logging data using a Watcom SQL 4.0 server. Testing worked fine in the office (Windows NT) but will not work on the PC mentioned above.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

SLY

Try reapplying or upgrading MDAC and make sure you are logged in as an Administrator. If it's access you could upgrade to the latest JET release (SP3 plus a security rollup I believe)

Perhaps you would be better served by posting your question in the ODBC forum
