I have just added a DSL line to the network to retrieve email and provide internet access removing overhead from the relatively small server.
TCP/IP is set to autodetect IP address on all pcs. Server is 192.168.0.1, router is changed to 192.168.0.99. If the PCs are unable to connect to the net/email, I can go into TCP/IP settings on the NIC of the PC, put in an address such as 192.168.0.50, 255.255.255.0 and a gateway of 192.168.0.99. If I then accept these settings, no change. If I then go back in to TCP/IP to change them back to autodetect and apply them, I can access the net until I reboot.
Any clues?
