I need to know what the procedure is for a first time NINDYer with very good tech skills, how to reset the default password on a DSL-HS-2.3MBS. Lucent/Ascend router. Any direction on this one? Thanks.
Open unit case. Then...
· On the right side of the board locate the P12 and short it.
· Attach the power then the serial cable. Configure the terminal software for 57600 N-8-1 no flow-control
· You should see a DSLPipe> prompt. Type DF.
· After typing DF upload the correct version of the software. The software is about 450K.
· When complete (2-4 minutes) remove the power cord then remove the jumper.
Replace the box lid and power up. It’s now running in a factory original configuration.
· Reconnect the serial cable using 9600 N-8-1 no flowcontrol and configure as desired.
If this doesn't work then I'm afraid you may have to RMA these units and have the factory reset them as this model is no longer made.
Still not sure what is happening. I put in DF and it says "downloading to flash-receiving file" then goes through a string of CKCKCK. At the end of the string its has "Voice Pipe Debug Monitor : Fbug68 Version 1.2 -- Rev A, John - Curt, 1999 -- Dedicated to Buffer The DSL Dog" then it goes back to the DSLPipe> prompt. I have downloaded the correct software on floppy as well as an older version. I understand you must upload an older version and then work your way up to the current version. It seems I can't upload anything. Any ideas? Thanks, Conrail
can you tell me what will be the software code is it l.s15 or l.sds bcz i tried to up load the software it shows that
CKCKCK. At the end of the string its has "Voice Pipe Debug Monitor : Fbug68 Version 1.2 -- Rev A, John - Curt, 1999 -- b4 that i check my software version is 7.0.25 no can u help me what to do or what will be the next step.
Regards
Minhaz
Be very careful when doing this. I just did a NINDY and followed these instructions exactly. I loaded the l.s15 file and it uploaded to the DSL router just fine.
BUT... on the restart of the router I got a screen that said:
Pipeline
Power-On Self Test
Halted:
CONFIGURE UNIT!
I had to call lucent and paid $300.00 to find out that they need to generate some sort of hash based on my routers serial number in order to get the software load to work correctly.
So the NINDY does work but beware that there are issues with doing this. I am awaiting the technician to email me a file to get the router to at least be back to factory mode. I dont know if that will even work....
