Sometimes I have a hard time connecting thru an analog modem through DSA to the switch. It will take me many tries before I can get in. Also everytime I disconnect at the end of the day it locks up and I have to go to task manager and end it there. Does anyone have any ideas on my connection properties that might be set wrong?

Thanks,
Tina

we have used robotics couriers and they have worked well. this is a silly question, but have you tried dialing in via the tracker, and are you talking about a tracker.

Try obtaining a newer version of DSA. (ASA 1.9 or higher) Less bugs an less crashes. Also, upping the time-out time in the connection properties to 60 seconds sometimes helps.

Let me know what happened or if it didn't work...

This is a pretty common problem, as the application ASA/DSA talks directly to the modem (as opposed to talking to the windows modem driver). As suggested by Arrucze, try using as USR Sportster. Otherwise, you can try a couple of other things:

1. Set the modem type to "analog modem" or "generic 9600". This often works.

2. If you are still having trouble, create a new modem device, and make sure you use the proper init string for your particular modem. I like to use the website to get the modem init string. There are often times when there will be several init strings for a particular modem, so try all of them!

If you still have trouble, try a different modem. The USR Sportster modems can be reset defaults with the dip switches too, so give that a try as well. I really wish that Avaya had integrated their application a little tighter with the naitive Microsoft TAPI drivers...I believe that most of the problems such as your's could be eliminated.

Hope this helps!

I used to have the same problem. You may have already tried this, but my solution to the problem was using the plain old analog modem(the first one in the drop down selection box)in the switch connection properties. No matter what computer or modem type I use, it works great every time.

Hope this helps,

Cathy

Cathy,
Thats the one I chose and it worked good for a while then I started having the issues...I hope changing the timeout helped because I got right in today.
Thanks
